Giant Panda Fu LongCame back to China
November 20, 2009 early morning, giant panda "Fu Long" aged two years old , came back to China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda from the Austrian. Now, he lives in the separation area of Bifengxia Base.

According to Chinese-Austrian cooperation agreement of the giant panda research, the giant pandas "Long Hui" and "Yang Yang" were sent to the Austria on March 3, 2003, and have a 10-year sojourn. In the morning of August 8, 2007, the giant panda Yang Yang gave birth to a pair of twins, while one of them survived, with a birth weight of 100 g and birth length of 10 cm, and called Mini by the keeper. He is the first panda baby born in Europe by natural mated.

In the end of 2007, this baby gained the name of "Fu Long" from Austrian public through internet voting, which means "the dragon of happiness." Through the two years in Austria, the panda Fu Long has established a profound friendship with the Austrian people, and become a symbol of friendship between the two countries-China and Austria. According to the agreement, the giant panda Fu Long should be returned to China, when he is two years old. On August 23, 2009, the giant panda Fu Long had lived in the Schönbrunn Zoo for two years, and the workers began to prepare to send him back to China.

Fu Long took the Plane CA1070 from Austrian to Shanghai, which left Austria at 17:00, November 18,2009, and arrived at Shanghai at 07:55, November 19, 2009. Towards evening of November 19, 2009, he was sent to Chengdu from Shanghai on the plane of 3U8964, and arrived at the Bifengxia Base at 00:30, November 20, 2009.

On November 20, 2009, the research center held a big ceremony to welcome panda Fu Long home. The research center specially prepared a very comfortable enclosure for him, and a experienced keeper to look after him.
