Giant Panda Xi Xi was Inseminated Artificially on Chinese New Years Eve

        On February 13, 2010, the Chinese New Year's Eve, the giant panda Xi Xi gets into the best estrus state.  The experts of CCRCGP made artificially insemination for it.  From then on, CCRCGP's breeding work in 2010 starts.
        At the beginning of this February, the eleven-year-old Xi Xi began to have the oestrus symptom, including playing water, being upsetted and making calling.  Besides, there were obvious change at its vulvae and chest.  The employees of CCRCGP began to observe it closely and make preparation for this year's oestrus and mating work.    
        Experts estimated that Xi Xi may get into the peak at the Chinese New Year's Eve.  It meant that the employees would hold the special wedding for Xi Xi on the eve.  Therefore, all prepared well to make artificial insemination for Xi Xi at any time.
        On February 13, Xi Xi walks around in the ben with calling.  It also makes scent marking and looks upsetted.  The experts estimate that it has gone into the peak and decide to make artificial insemination for it at once.  At 15:30, revelent employees are in place. At 15:31, anesthetize Xi Xi and it gets into the state of trance.  At 15:40, Xi Xi is moved to Panda Hospital.  At 16:17, experts make artificial insemination for Xi Xi successfully.  Xi Xi is possible to be CCRCGPs first mother of 2010.
        To ensure the giant panda's species quality and genetic diversity, the experts of CCRCGP make pairing for the adult giant pandas.  Each pair male and female giant pandas have no kin so that their cub is more favorable to the giant panda's development and persistence.
