On July 6, 2010, Wolong Panda Club holds the annual "Hug My Baby at Wolong" at Shanghai Wild Animal Park.  This year it is the sixth and its theme is "Love Pandas, Meet at the Expo".  It spends five days and is held at Shanghai and Ya'an successively.

        The guests includes Ms. Margaret Gatenby from Austrilia, Ms. Ruan Deci and Zeng Huishan from HK, Ms.Lv Chen from Shenzhen, BHP Billiton (China), Changhong Electric Appliance, China Environmental Protection Foundation, BOSSsunwen, Cape Verde Outdoor Int'l Group Ltd., Jingang Electric Power Engineering and Trading Co., Ltd., NCM Chemical, Panda Protection Institute of Japan and China famous star Huang Xiaoming.  They gather at Shanghai Wild Animal Park to celebrate the two-year-old birthday for the ten Expo pandas.  They also send gifts to the pandas that they specially prepared.  The gifts are apples sent by Panda Protection Institute of Japan, panda embroidery by NCM and two food tubes by Huang Xiaoming, etc.  These gifts contain the adopters' best wishes and blessings to the pandas.  The last gift is a birthday cake made of ice, apples, carrots, Wowotou and bamboo.  It pushes the celebration to a new high.  Huang Xiaoming and the representatives of the other guests send the cake into the enclosure together.  Seeing the cake, the ten pandas run to surround the cake at once and begin to enjoy.  The celebration ends with the song of "Happy Birthday."  Then, the guests visit the whole Shanghai Wild Animal Park freely.

 

        The next day, organized by the employees of Wolong Panda Club, the guests go to Shanghai World Expo Park to visit freely.  On July 8, they go to the Expo Panda House of Shanghai Wild Animal Park again to see the pandas and say goodbye to them.  After a brief lunch, they leave for Ya'an with the club's employees.

        On the early morning of July 9, the guests get to Ya'an Bifengxia Base of CCRCGP to do volunteers.  Even though it rains heavily, they work hard, cleaning the enclosures, carrying bamboo, learning how to feed pandas, etc.  In the afternoon, they go to the Panda Kindergarten to see the new-born panda babies of this year.  When they see the lovely babies lying in the incubators comfortably, they feel very excited.  Next, they have a close touch with the panda babies.

 

        To thank the adopters for their long-term care and support to Wolong Panda Club, the club specially holds an Appreciation Dinner in Shanghai and Ya'an respectively.  In Ya'an, they also get their hard labor fruit--Volunteer Certificate issued by Mr. Tang Chunxiang, the chief assistant of CCRCGP.  Besides, BHP Billiton (China) hands a contract to CCRCGP.  In the contract, BHP Billiton (China) will give support to some of CCRCGP's scientific research projects.

 

        On the morning of July 10, the guests wave their hands to say goodbye to the employees of Wolong Panda Club and leave unwillingly.  The Sixth "Hug My Baby at Wolong" ends perfectly.
